The DFA works on several specific projects either on it's own, or in partnership with others at various stages. These are key projects the DFA believes are of value to our industry sector, and that require more resource and communication than the usual work it communicates via it's blog (blog.docfilmsa.com) site.

Current core projects include:

  1. User Rights Project - In partnership with the American University, Black Filmmakers Network and Women of the Sun this work includes an already published research document and work towards an industry best practices document for "fair quotation and fair dealing rights" of our copyright act.

  2. My Town Short Documentary Competition - In partnership with the Encounters festival this annual competition offers great prizes and a chance to have some great work produced. A web site section will follow as soon as the project for this year is decided on.

  3. Members Benefits Project - The DFA negotiates discounts and special deals for its members with leading industry suppliers.
